On the heels of their performance on the NFL and Fox’s Super Bowl LXVIII Tailgate pregame show, The Band Perry will advise Blake Shelton‘s team during the “Battle Rounds” on Season Six of NBC’s The Voice. The season premiere will take place Monday, Feb. 24, 2014 at 8 p.m. EST / 7 p.m. CST.

“Blake didn’t have to ask us twice if we wanted to mentor his team this season on The Voice, ” said The Band Perry. “It was so much fun to work with Team Blake, and after 15 years of receiving plenty of ‘constructive criticism,’ it was our turn to pay it forward. We just hope we were as helpful to Blake’s team as our own mentors have been to us through the years.”

With the SOLD OUT tribute concert already hosting top names in all genres of music, Nancy Jones is excited to announce the addition of George Strait, Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, Eric Church, Reba McEntire, and Alabama to the all-star lineup.

“I am thrilled and honored that so many of George’s friends are coming to what would have been his last concert, but is not a fitting tribute,” says Nancy Jones. “George loved these artists and before passing had actually wrote letters to almost all of them.”

The newly added list of performers will join previously announced artists Alan Jackson, Dierks Bentley, Travis Tritt, Tanya Tucker, Josh Turner, The Oak Ridge Boys, Charlie Daniels, Jamey Johnson, Montgomery Gentry, Sam Moore, and others. All previously announced artists are currently being reconfirmed.

George Jones, often referred to as the "the greatest living country singer" was on his farewell tour titled "The Grand Tour,” when he passed away. The icon’s hits, "I Don't Need Your Rockin' Chair", "Who's Gonna Fill Their Shoes", "White Lightning" and "He Stopped Loving Her Today" will surely become standards for honky-tonk cover bands for years to come.

About George Jones

George Jones was the #2 best-charting country artist of all time, with a staggering list of hit singles since the ‘50s. The Beaumont, Texas native also has 143 Top 40 hits to his name, has received two Grammy Awards, was a 2008 Kennedy Center Honor recipient, is a Country Music Hall of Fame member, was presented with a GRAMMY® Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012 and holds a National Medal of Arts medallion.

Blake Shelton Has Snakes & Scorpions On His "Honey Do" List

Country boy Blake Shelton has a stranger "honey do" list than most.  He shared a few of his duties with his Twitter followers this week.  Blake tweeted, "Statement just made in the Shelton household: "After you throw that snake out please get the scorpion off the door!!! #country."  Living out in the country certainly has its benefits but the snakes and scorpions aren't those!  In the past, Blake has posted pictures of a wild ostritch, among others, and combined with being an avid outdoorsman he and wife Miranda Lambert are definitely, as he puts it, "backwoods legit"!
