Republic Nashville's Florida Georgia Line shared some big news about their sophomore disc on ABC-TV's Good Morning America yesterday (8/15).
‘Anything Goes,’ which will be Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard’s follow-up to their multi-platinum debut album, ‘Here’s to the Good Times,’ is set for release on Oct. 14.
“You know what, this whole album is just … it’s kind of like ['Here's to the Good Times'] was for us, it’s just where we are at this point,” Kelley said on ‘GMA.’ “So we’re excited, we’re trying to step up our game, and we’re eager for you guys to hear it.”
The duo has a lot to live up to: ‘Here’s to the Good Times’ included five No. 1 singles. But the new album’s first single, "Dirt", has already made waves, breaking Taylor Swift‘s record for the most-added song in a week.
“It’s been a hell of a ride. The past couple years, we’re able to start seeing them clearly now. It all happened so fast, and it’s cool to start reminiscing and looking back at some pictures,” Kelley says. “That’s also affected the album: reminiscing and looking at all the good times that ‘Here’s to the Good Times’ allowed us to have.”
Hubbard says ‘Anything Goes’ has plenty of potential hits on it too. “Honestly, it’s hard to pick one I’m more pumped about than the next,” he says. “All of them have their own flavor, their own taste, and all serve their purpose. They fit their slot on the record, and it’s fun to listen to all the songs and not want to skip one. That’s one of our goals when we’re recording — slam an album full of singles and make people want to listen to every song.”
Fans will have to wait a little longer to hear the new material, though. When Florida Georgia Line took the ‘GMA’ stage in Central Park, they performed "Dirt" as well as "This is How We Roll", "Cruise" and "Round Here".
“We’re trying to step our game up,” Kelley explains. “We’ve got a couple of awesome songs that we’re pumped about everybody hearing. Can’t wait to get the new stuff out. It’s definitely gonna have evolved from record one, but it’s still going to have that FGL feel, but we’re going to take some chances here and there.”

Outshyne is an alternative country band from South Carolina formed in 2007. These are a group of guys that you need to take notice of if you haven't already. Outshyne’s members are Waylon Owings: lead vocals/guitar; Josh Coleman: guitar/vocals; Casey Joe: guitar/vocals; Jason Paxton: bass and Smiley Norris: drums. With the exception of Casey, the other members played in a rock band together before forming Outshyne.
Outshyne's latest single “Moonlight Crush” released to radio earlier this month. The mid-tempo summer/fall song is the sophomore single off the 'Startin Over' CD. The song was penned by one of the hottest writers in country music right now, Rodney Clawson, along with Marv Green & Blake Wise. It was produced by Jeffrey Steele & Chip Matthews. It is the follow up to the lead album single, “Dirt Road Romance“. Two of that song’s writers, Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley,of Florida Georgia Line, planned to use it on their own album, but instead gave it to Outshyne.
"Moonlight Crush" is upbeat, yet gives the listener a peaceful, mellow, serene Summertime night feel. It's a love song with a sound and lyrics that catch your ear from the beginning. A contemporary country tune, it is perfect for today's country radio and country fans are loving it. It tells the story of a possible infatuation which might just be more. I couldn't stop listening and before I knew it was singing along. Lead vocalist Owings sings, "I've got a little moonlight crush, on you girl, a little star struck, having a hard time covering up how I'm feelin' right now. Your pretty firefly silhouettes, looking just about as good as it gets....... Yea it might be love, Or just another moonlight crush".
Give it a listen and tell us what you think!!
“With the songs strong lyrics and Waylon’s infectious vocals, we look for this song to be our breakout song to the country music world.” quoted Jimmy Milliken, VP of Operations – MILLSTAR Entertainment.
“Moonlight Crush” is currently available to all radio, XM/Sirius & Internet stations. You can get their singles and cd on Itunes. Give it a listen and call you local stations to request "Moonlight Crush".
