Singer/songwriter Edwin McCain’s passion for music took him straight to the ‘Top 10’ charts, and these days, he’s whistling a new tune. In all-new Animal Planet series FLIPPING SHIPS, which premieres Friday, April 24, at 10 PM (ET/PT), McCain straps up for a new task, restoring and reinvigorating abandoned, ramshackle boats. His goal is to provide each client with an opportunity to forge deeper connections to the marine environment on a one-of-a-kind vessel.

FLIPPING SHIPS follows McCain and his Boats Have Souls business in this six-part series. In each episode, this quirky band of gear heads perform acts of nautical salvation on boats that have been abandoned for so long, they’re beginning to forge with nature… and not in a good way! When boat’s floorboards have long been replaced by grass and dirt, the team goes to work reinventing these disasters into fishing vessels, open water cruisers and family houseboats.

In the series premiere, McCain partners with fellow singer and long-time friend Darius Rucker for a boat flip to benefit one of their favorite charities, the Medical University of South Carolina Children’s Hospital. Both singers have a deep connection with the charity, and Rucker challenges McCain and his team to build the ultimate Rock-n-Roll speedboat to be auctioned off for charity.

McCain always is up for the task of turning a hot mess into a hot rod, and with most of his jobs, the turnaround is tight, and some of the team’s outrageous, over-the-top ideas may get in the way. Hoping to deliver a stellar boat for the auction, the team must quickly overhaul a 1950s Sea King to its former glory, complete with retro fins and a classic console. With the kids on their mind, the team rolls up its sleeves and pulls out all the stops.

McCain and his team take on the following boats this season:

· A rare 1970s Yukon Delta boat, which McCain best describes as “what happens when a boat and an RV have a baby…”

· A pontoon boat, which the team hopes to turn into a floating tailgate spot, converting Clemson Tiger fans into ‘sailgaters’

· A rare truck camper, which McCain converts into a floating family retreat…as long as the laws of physics comply

FLIPPING SHIPS is produced for Animal Planet by O’Malley Productions with Sean O’Malley as the executive producer.

Singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, avid golfer, philanthropist and Country Music Hall of Fame member Vince Gill was recently named the 2014 BMI Icon, and he is one of five Music City residents recognized in Nashville Arts & Entertainment Magazine's "Nashville Arts and Entertainment Honors." The new issue, which hit news stands this week, also recognizes Nashvillians Steve Buchanan, Dr. Thomas Frist, Jr., Martha Ingram and Jeffrey Steele.

One of the most popular and most recorded singers, superstar Vince Gill has become the measure of excellence in country music. His vocal performances are spellbinding, his songwriting emotionally powerful and his guitar-playing world-class.

Gill achieved his big breakthrough with "When I Call Your Name," which won the Country Music Association's Single of the Year award. He has since won 17 more CMA honors. Since 1990, Gill has received 20 GRAMMY Awards and sold more than 26 million albums. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2007, is a member of the Grand Ole Opry and was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. A member of the GRAMMY-nominated band The Time Jumpers, Rounder Records released the band's first studio album last year.

Gill's high, pure tenor voice and unerring sense of harmony have caused dozens of artists-from Reba McEntire to Dolly Parton-to embrace him as a duet partner. He has established himself as one of the most successful guitarists of his generation. Combining a deep knowledge of bluegrass and classic country with the fire of '60s rock, Gill has earned a place next to his musical heroes.

His passion for golf led him to start the Vince Gill Pro Celebrity Invitation Golf Tournament - or more affectionately known as "The Vinny" - to help support junior golf programs in Tennessee. He and his wife, Amy Grant, are renown for their charitable spirits that constantly and continuously pour out into the community. Gill was recently awarded the Leadership Music Dale Franklin Award in recognition of his philanthropic heart.

Nashville Arts & Entertainment Magazine, a Glover Group Entertainment Production, is pleased to make a $1,000 donation to an affiliated charity of each honoree, and for Vince Gill, The First Tee Foundation will receive the gift. The mission of The First Tee Foundation is to impact the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf.

Singer, songwriter and entertainer Toby Keith is making a splash with brand new music timed to wet the whistle of fans with his latest track "Drunk Americans," which released to country radio and is available everywhere for digital download. Purchase the new single here.

Written by Brandy Clark, Bob DiPiero and Shane McAnally, the song celebrates those communal moments when glasses go up and the barriers that separate us all come down. "We ain't east, we ain't west. We ain't left, we ain't right. Ain't black, we ain't white ... we just came here to drink," Keith sings as the tune opens, cheering the folks who "all sing it wrong ... but we all sing along."

The #DrunkAmericans Challenge continues on For the next three weeks, you can enter multiple times by completing tasks such as sharing a tailgate photo on Instagram, tweeting their favorite lyric from the song and listening to "Drunk Americans." Prizing this week is a set of cornhole boards.

Like his unparalleled catalog of chart-topping music, Toby's new single will fuel a powerful machine that includes acclaimed albums, standing-room-only tours (such as his ongoing Shut Up And Hold On Tour Presented by Ford F-Series) and extended business ventures such as his Wild Shot Mezcal. But such successes pale next to Toby's passion for helping children through his foundation and his tireless work in support of America's fighting men and women.

To that end, last month Keith helped honor combat wounded veteran Damian Schuyler at his Camden, NJ show. Sergeant Schuyler's military retirement is pending following combat related injuries sustained in Afghanistan and Iraq. He was brought onstage during the show to receive a mortgage-free home.

CMA Nominee Eric Church Announces Second Leg Of Wildly Successful "The Outsiders World Tour"

Posted by Administrator on October 15, 2014 at 7:15 PM Comments comments (0)

Eight long years ago, Eric Church stepped foot onto the stage of the legendary Madison Square Garden and changed the trajectory of his career forever. At the time, his debut album Sinners Like Me was receiving critical acclaim and his debut single “How Bout You” was climbing the charts and as opener for a country trio on a chilly October 14, 2006 evening, Church was ready to play long and loud and late into the night…or at least that’s how the story goes.

The Chief hasn’t been back since.

Fast forward eight years, and the EMI Nashville recording artist is ready to recreate that long and loud and fateful night. Except this time, the Chief is in charge. Now holding the deserving title of headliner, Church is preparing to take the MSG stage once again on October 17, 2014 in celebration of his top selling album The Outsiders, his rising single “Talledega” and the unveiling of the second leg of Eric Church: The Outsiders World Tour.

The much anticipated and long overdue show in New York City is just one of the many highlights of a year that has found Church tirelessly touring the country, consistently at the top of the charts and serving as the toast of a bevy of award shows. To commemorate his return performance in The Big Apple, Church will also perform on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday, Oct. 15 on NBC at 11:35 pm ET/10:35 CT. At the upcoming 48th Annual CMA Awards, airing live on November 5 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC, The Outsiders is nominated for CMA Album of the Year and has also earned Church three additional CMA nominations for Male Vocalist of the Year, as well as both Single of the Year and Song of the Year for his No. 1 hit song “Give Me Back My Hometown.”

Church told The New York Times earlier this year, “I always say that we don’t make these songs for Music Row, we make them for the front row," and both fans and critics agree. A Rolling Stone cover artist, the publication raves The Outsiders World Tour packs "a serious punch," and SPIN Magazine notes "he's the most exciting, sonically fearless singer in Nashville."

And based on the staggering success of The Outsiders World Tour, Church will take on the New Year with the launch of the second leg of the tour in New Orleans on January 8, 2015. The second leg of the 2015 tour will proceed as follows:

Jan. 8| New Orleans, LA| Smoothie King Center

Jan. 9| Tupelo, MS| BankcorpSouth Arena

Jan. 10| Nashville, TN| Bridgestone Arena

Jan. 14| Oklahoma City, OK| Chesapeake Energy Arena

Jan. 16| Las Vegas, NV | The Chelsea at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas

Jan. 17| Las Vegas, NV| The Chelsea at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas

Jan. 18| San Diego, CA| Valley View Casino Arena

Jan. 22| Fresno, CA| Save Mart Center

Jan. 23| Los Angeles, CA| Staples Center

Jan. 24| Phoenix, AZ| US Airways Arena

Jan. 27| Denver, CO| Pepsi Center

Jan. 30| Boise, ID| Taco Bell Arena

Jan. 31| Salt Lake City, UT| EnergySolutions Arena

Feb. 4| Sacramento, CA| Sleep Train Arena

Feb. 5| San Jose, CA| SAP Center

Church’s current album, The Outsiders, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart and the Billboard Country Albums Chart earlier this year, featuring his No. 1 hit “Give Me Back My Hometown” and his new single “Talladega.” The Outsiders is the follow-up to Church’s Platinum-certified album Chief, (named the 2012 Album of the Year by both CMA and ACM, and GRAMMY-nominated for Best Country Album) which featured five Top 20 singles: “Homeboy” (certified Platinum for sales in excess of one million singles); the Top 10 “Like Jesus Does” and the Top 5 “Creepin’” (both certified Gold for sales in excess of 500,000 singles each); and two No. 1 hits “Drink in My Hand” (certified Platinum) and “Springsteen” (certified Double Platinum for sales in excess of two million singles). Church’s 2006 debut album, Sinners Like Me (2006) and his sophomore album Carolina (2009) are both RIAA Gold-certified. Carolina had three hit singles: the Top 10 “Hell on the Heart” as well as Top 20 hit “Smoke A Little Smoke” and Top 10 smash “Love Your Love The Most,” which were both certified Gold. Sinners Like Me spawned three Top 20 singles: “How ‘Bout You,” “Two Pink Lines,” and “Guys Like Me.”

Review: Outshyne Has "A Night With Your Name On It" This Tuesday 9-9-14

The guys of Outshyne have come a long way since their days of flipping burgers at Burger King, where all but one of the band members worked years ago. Today they are traveling and playing music to fans live while staying busy recording new music for their CD which is set to release in early 2015. South Carolina natives Waylon Owings (lead singer, guitar), Josh Coleman (lead guitar, vocals), Casey Joe Kelly (rhythm guitar, vocals), Jason Paxton (bass) and Matthew "Smiley" Norris (drums) make up the band. The guys have opened for the likes of Jake Owen, Eric Church, Lee Brice, Easton Corbin, Gary Allan, Colt Ford and many other country stars. They have had a whirlwind year with their single "Moonlight Crush" hitting number 1 on SiriusXM The Highway Hot 45 back in July. Watch the official music video for "Moonlight Crush" below.

You need Adobe Flash Player to view this content.

Two new songs from their upcoming CD are releasing this Tuesday (September 9) on iTunes and other digital outlets. We had the opportunity to hear these early, can't stop listening and can't wait for the fans to get their hands on the new music in just a few days.

"Night With Your Name On It", written by their friends Cole Swindell, Adam Sanders, & Thomas Archer, fits right in with today's country music and has the sound that country fans are wanting to hear. Acoustic cords lead into the electric guitar and the rocking sound continues throughout the song. The up-tempo beat will have fans moving as they are singing along to the catchy lyrics which are perfect for Waylon's voice. A modern love song, expect to hear this one playing on country stations across the nation soon.

"Whiskey Whisper" was penned by Chase Rice, Cole Taylor & Thomas Archer. The first beat of the music comes on and it doesn't seem very country, then quickly the sound of a modern country tune combining rock and a little rap takes over...add a sultry female voice to the vocals and you have a hit in the making. A seductively romantic tune that's not too slow, this is one of many songs of its kind out presently but definitely has a place in the niche of rockin' country.

If these songs are any indicator of what the full CD will be when it releases, expect the guys of Outshyne to take country music by storm.  This could be one of those CDs reminiscient of Florida Georgia Lines' freshman cd, you know the kind, where every song deserves to be a hit.

Keep up with Outshyne on their official website, where you can check out tour dates and more and also on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
