The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum will debut the exhibition Miranda Lambert: Backstage Access, beginning May 16, 2014. The exhibit will run through Nov. 9, 2014.
The “backstage access” will feature an array of gowns and stage costumes, awards, and a custom pink Gibson acoustic guitar.
Opening weekend activities will include a songwriter session featuring Lambert’s Pistol Annies bandmate Ashley Monroe (also the purveyor of the acclaimed solo project Like A Rose), a family songwriting program, and a free film screening. Later in the month, some of Lambert’s frequent co-writers including Nicolle Galyon, Natalie Hemby and Jimmy Robbins will participate in a songwriter round.
“Miranda Lambert is one of contemporary music’s most popular and acclaimed artists, and for good reason,” said Museum Director Kyle Young. “She’s a dynamic performer; an emotive and powerful vocalist whose voice is equally at home with lyrics tough or tender; and a songwriter with a deft touch for feeling and place. Her numerous hits, from empowering anthems like ‘Gunpowder and Lead’ to introspective set pieces like ‘The House That Built Me,’ are rich contributions to country music’s storytelling tradition. We are looking forward to taking our visitors behind the scenes with Miranda during her amazing successes in 2013.”
Miranda's fifth album, "Platinum", is slated for release June 3rd.

Add Miranda Lambert’s upcoming album to the many good things that are Platinum. Set to release June 3, Platinum is not only a song on the album but it also represents a way of life for her. “Platinum is my hair color, and my wedding ring, and the color of my Airstream and the name of one of my favorite beers,” she said. “It’s about a lifestyle.”
Miranda, who wrote half of the album’s 16 songs, described the album like a picture. “All 16 songs together make up a picture, and without one of those songs, it just looks like abstract art,” she said. “I wanted it to be perfect; I wanted it to matter,” she continued.
“There’s humor on this album, and nostalgia, and it’s feminine,” said Miranda. “There’s girl power, not in the ‘I’m gonna burn your house down and kill you, but more where I am as a 30- year-old woman and wife. I’m more settled in life, embracing the good and the bad, and that’s all reflected on Platinum. I still blaze around – but in a less chaotic way,” she laughed.
Of the album, Sony Nashville Chairman/CEO Gary Overton said, “Platinum is Miranda’s best album yet! When the album was finished, she asked us to live with the new music for several weeks before we started talking about single choices, marketing ideas, etc. She knew how special this album is and wanted us to ‘hear’ it like she did. All we could say was ‘Wow!’”
“Automatic,” the first single from Platinum, got off to a historic start for Miranda. It was her highest-charting first week at radio, debuting at #35 and #26 respectively on the Country Aircheck and Billboard country airplay charts. The song currently resides inside the Top 20. Written by Miranda, Nicolle Galyon and Natalie Hemby, “Automatic” is available for purchase at http://smarturl.it/mlautomatic and at all digital retailers.
Miranda will perform the song on Sunday, April 6, at the ACM Awards, which airs live from Las Vegas on CBS. The reigning, four-time ACM Female Vocalist of the Year has seven nominations this year including Female Vocalist and Entertainer of the Year. Fan voting for Entertainer of the Year will begin on Monday, March 24, at noon PT at www.VoteACM.com and will close during the third hour of the live ACM broadcast.

Miranda Lambert’s MuttNation Foundation is thrilled to announce their Mutts Across America: 50 States/50 Shelters initiative. A total of $253,660 was donated to shelters in each of the 50 states, with the minimum donation to an individual shelter being $3000. Miranda Lambert said, “We are thrilled to be able to reach out to every state and recognize shelters and organizations working at a grassroots level to help animals. It’s those people on the ground, day in and day out, who really make a huge difference.”
The MuttNation Foundation board along with partners at the RACE (Ran's Animal Care Express) team worked diligently to find the most deserving shelters in each of the 50 states. Operating under the premise that fans, friends, colleagues and benefactors across the US have sown into MuttNation Foundation in the past year, they launched a plan to select a shelter in each of the 50 states to lend a financial hand. The criteria used in their decision to grant funds were:
• High adoption per intake rate: At least 90% successful adoption rate. Low euthanasia rate (10%)
• High volunteerism: People rarely jump on/stay on a sinking ship.
• Are they fiscally responsible? (Low administrative/staff costs)
• High activity/fundraising. Are they working hard to earn income?
• Do they have a specialty - MNF selected a zoo, a horse sanctuary, disabled pet farm, and an elderly/senior pet sanctuary, a last chance rescue for animals from other shelters and a blind farm to name a few.
• Do they work outside of the shelter to adopt out or minister to elderly, schools, etc.? Do they have a presence in the community?
• Is the website up to date with activity? Do they send newsletters? Are they current? Do they appear to still have the “fire”?
•Are they heavily advocating/helping in spay and neuter campaigns, clinics and activities?
• Are the hours of operation conducive with adequate adoption times? EX: are they open on weekends, nights, and/or weekdays? How many hours?
As explained by MNF co-founder Bev Lambert, “We believe these criteria enabled us to find those shelters standing as examples in the fight to end animal homelessness, abuse and neglect as well as those that encourage adoption, spay and neuter programs and avoid needless euthanasia. We are confident and proud to award funding to the shelters we selected so they may continue the efforts that they have exhibited in the fight.”
A complete list of the shelters that received donations is available at https://www.facebook.com/MuttNation" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">www.muttnationfoundation.com
Miranda’s love of animals led to the formation of MuttNation. The foundation has successfully raised money across the country in order to aid organizations, government institutions or entities that build animal shelters for better care, increased pet adoption and encouragement of responsible pet guardianship, rehabilitation of sick or unsocialized animals, spay/neuter programs, reduce/eliminate euthanasia of healthy animals, and train shelter dogs for purposes of therapy programs, assistance for wounded military personnel, and dogs-in-prisons programs. The mission of the organization is to end animal suffering and homelessness on every front.
Donations can always be made at https://www.facebook.com/MuttNation" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">www.muttnationfoundation.com.
