In a triple threat collaboration, Tim McGraw is releasing "Highway Don't Care" with Taylor Swift, featuring Keith Urban on guitar, as the next single from his No. one album TWO LANES OF FREEDOM (Big Machine Records). The track caused a feverish reaction from country music fans, igniting early airplay and leading to a No. one debut on the Country Digital Songs chart before its official release to radio. Taylor Swift may have insinuated during her biting Grammys performance last Sunday that she is “never ever getting back together” with her ex, One Direction’s Harry Styles. However she’s apparently dressing like him now. Swift wore an outfit for the filming of her latest video that mirrors her ex’s fashion sense almost exactly. She hit the nail on the head with every detail of Style’s signature casual look: baggy sweater, tight black jeans, ankle boots….and, last but not least, the knit beanie on top to cover those lavish locks. Compare the pictures and tell us what you think!
Swift is well known for paying homage to her exes in her songwriting. This time, it seems that she is making reference in a more visible way. The video, which was filmed in Malibu, California, is reportedly for Swift’s song “22”--which contains the lyrics “It feels like a perfect night to dress up like hipsters, and make fun of our exes.” Styles was obviously the chosen one for this part of the video.
Swift seemed to have a lot of fun while filming. “Leaving LA now after the best day with my friends. Almost forgot it was a video shoot. Can't wait for you guys to see it.,” she tweeted, after finishing work for the day.

Country music superstars Tim McGraw, Taylor Swift and Keith Urban team up for a rare recording trifecta in "Highway Don't Care". The mid-tempo tune is the last one in the list of thirteen tracks included in the standard edition of "Two Lanes of Freedom", McGraw's first album under Big Machine Records which he signed up with last year.
The country ballad is a tale of a man who just wants his lover to stay closer to home no matter how much the road calls. It holds a very catchy hook, "The highway won't hold you tonight/ The highway don't know you're alive/ The highway don't care if you're all alone/ but I do, I do/ The highway won't dry your tears/ The highway don't need you here/ The highway don't care if you're coming home/ but I do, I do."
After her crossover jump to pop in her latest studio album, Swift looks back on her country roots in this new collaboration. Her breathy vocals especially on the verse "I can't live without you/ I can't live without you baby" seem to be getting better on this track than it sounded on her own "Red" album.
The "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" singer posted on Twitter Tuesday, February 5, "I sang with Tim McGraw on a song on his new album- it's called 'Highway Don't Care' and it's out now and I'm psyched about it- check it out?". "American Idol" judge Urban lent his guitar-playing skills on the collaboration.
Listen to "Highway Don't Care" HERE.
