Country star Trace Adkins has checked into rehab to deal with alcoholism issues, his rep has confirmed. "Trace has entered a treatment facility after a setback in his battle with alcoholism. As he faces these issues head-on, we ask that his family's privacy will be respected."
The 52-year-old singer was taking part in a Country Cruising trip when he fell off the wagon after being 12 years sober. Adkins was scheduled to perform on the ship that left Miami and was bound for Ocho Rios, Jamaica.
According to TMZ, a brawl with a Trace Adkins impersonator who was doing karaoke precipitated Adkins' departure from the cruise. The gossip site reported that the singer jumped ship in Jamaica before heading towards rehab.
Adkins has been open about his battle with alcoholism. The "Celebrity Apprentice" winner previously checked into treatment in 2002. "The program was an extremely positive experience for me," Adkins told CMT in 2003. "This is something I needed to do for myself, my family and my career. I feel the best I've felt in years, both physically and mentally."
Our thoughts and prayers are with Trace and his family at this difficult time.

Clear Channel has launched iHeartRadio’s Show Your Stripes, a company-wide community service project to address unemployment among U.S. military veterans and to encourage businesses to hire skilled veterans. The company is set to spend more than $75 million on radio, digital and other resources to highlight skills brought back by returning servicemen and women that are valuable to employers.
To launch the campaign, artists including Elton John, John Legend, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley, Ryan Seacrest, Mario Lopez, Trace Adkins and LL Cool J have recorded a series of PSAs that showcase stories from veterans who have successfully found jobs. Clarkson tells the story of Jeff Marshall, a 10-year member of the U.S. Air Force special operations command who is now working in online operations at Facebook.
By the year 2016, more than a million servicemen and women will end their military careers and transition back to civilian life. According to a 2012 survey by Prudential and Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, 60 percent of returning servicemen and women said they have faced a challenge translating the valuable skills they obtained in the military into civilian employment. 98 percent of all veterans cited at least one challenge in seeking employment.

Trace Adkins is feeling the love on his 11th studio album, Love Will…, and he has confirmed that it will be released this Spring on Show Dog-Universal Music.
Like any labor of love, this album benefitted from relationships built over time and based on respect. The impressive list of producers who helped these songs stand up to Trace’s rich baritone include Tony Brown, Mark Wright, Frank Rogers, Kenny Beard and Mickey Cones. Additionally, several unexpected guests (to be announced) will appear, since love is nothing if not a collaboration.
“Hold on one second!” said Adkins. “This is an album of love songs but in my book, ‘Hot Mama’ and ‘Badonkadonk’ are love songs! So don’t start thinking these are all ‘I’ll love you til the end of time’ ballads…but yeah, we’ve got those too.”
Starting today, fans can pre-order the album on www.TraceAdkins.com. Fans can now complete online tasks related to either Trace’s new album, his appearances on NBC’s All-Star Celebrity Apprentice and his role as a Red Cross spokesman. Fans who complete tasks will be entered to win prizes like a pair of Nocona Boots signed by Trace, a year supply of Trace Adkins Hightower’s Smoked Sausage, an iPod or an autographed Trace Adkins-branded guitar. Grand prizes include a trip to the live finale of All-Star Celebrity Apprentice in New York City (regardless of the outcome) or an all-paid cruise aboard Country Cruising 2014.
