The Billboard Music Awards just got a little more country. Superstar sibling trio the Band Perry and fast-rising star Kacey Musgraves have been added to the roster of performers for the show, which airs on May 19.
They join pop acts including Pitbull, Christina Aguilera, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, and Selena Gomez, who were also announced for the event. Prince, Justin Bieber, Bruno Mars and Miguel have also been confirmed.
The Band Perry recently performed ‘Better Dig Two’ on ‘Dancing With the Stars.’ It was the lead single from their new album ‘Pioneer.’ Their current single is ‘Done.’
Musgraves took the entire music industry by surprise by debuting in the No. 1 position with her first studio album ‘Same Trailer, Different Park,’ which had already spawned the hit single ‘Merry Go ‘Round.’ Her current single is ‘Blowin’ Smoke.’ She’ll spend much of the summer opening for Kenny Chesney.
The 2013 Billboard Music Awards will air live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena on ABC on May 19.

Mercury Nashville singer/songwriter Kacey Musgraves will perform the television debut of next single “Blowin’ Smoke” on the Emmy Award-winning The Ellen DeGeneres Show on April 10. Check for your local listings for broadcast time and network.
“Blowin’ Smoke” was shipped to radio this week and is the follow-up single to the top-10 hit “Merry Go ‘Round.” Kacey co-wrote “Blowin’ Smoke” with Shane McAnally and Luke Laird.
Kacey’s album Same Trailer Different Park was released on March 19th and hit the #1 spot on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart with sales of over 43,000. This makes her the first solo female artist in five years to accomplish this feat with a debut release, and just the seventh in the 22-year Nielsen SoundScan era.

Grammy-winning superstar Gretchen Wilson will celebrate the release of her Right On Time album with a performance of her "Still Rollin'" single on "The Today Show" on April 2, 2013. The following day, she will sign copies of the new cd at New York's popular J&R Records, 23 Park Row in Manhattan from noon to 2:00 pm.
Gretchen's first album in three years, the 13-cut Right On Time hits stores nationwide on Tuesday, April 2. Fans can still hear samples of every cut and pre-order the album at iTunes and Amazon for the special price of $7.99 through Monday, April 1.
Right On Time includes tracks written by Gretchen, Vicky McGehee, Kacey Musgraves, Jim Beavers, Leslie Satcher, Rachel Farley, Shane McAnally, Bekka Bramlett, Billy Burnette, Dennis Morgan and others.
She will be touring heavily in support of the album with dates in Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and throughout the Midwest in the coming months.

Mercury Nashville singer/songwriter Kacey Musgraves releases her debut album Same Trailer Different Park today. The anticipated album by the 24-year old is co-produced by Musgraves, Shane McAnally and Luke Laird. Kacey co-wrote all tracks on the album.
This past Sunday Kacey was the subject of a four-page profile titled “With A Rebel Twang” in the highly regarded New York Times Magazine. Read it here.
Reviews of Same Trailer Different Park are already coming in. Rolling Stone gave Kacey’s debut outing a glowing FOUR out of FOUR Star review and labeled her as an “Artist To Watch.” The iconic music magazine says “Same Trailer Different Park proves Musgraves is for real,” adding “The album showcases a songwriting voice you won’t hear anywhere else in pop: young, female, downwardly mobile, fiercely witty.”

Mercury Nashville singer/songwriter Kacey Musgraves is set to perform her top-10 hit single “Merry Go ‘Round” on NBC’s TODAY, Tuesday, March 19; a song that has now sold over 500k digital downloads making it eligible for GOLD certification from the RIAA.

Singer/songwriter Kacey Musgraves received three nominations, Female Vocalist Of The Year and Video Of The Year for both artist and producer, this morning for the 48th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards.
"Holy sh*t y'all! I am speechless and so thankful," said Musgraves. "As a newcomer it's an honor to be included in such a talented group of ladies."
Joining Kacey in the Female Vocalist category are Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood; making Kacey the newest artist to be nominated for Female Vocalist Of The Year.
Kacey also received two nominations for Video Of The Year (both Artist and Producer) for her top 15 hit “Merry Go ‘Round.” The video was co-produced by Kacey and Perry Bean, whom also directed.
Kacey wKacey ill also make her late night television debut, tonight when she performs “Merry Go ‘Round” on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon (NBC 12:35/11:35C).
