'Duck Dynasty' Star Si Robertson is Off to the Races

Television’s favorite uncle, “Uncle” Si Robertson of A&E’s Duck Dynasty, alongside Ashley Howard Nelson (Korie Robertson’s sister), is taking the reins and launching a new venture with Wes Melcher, owner of Double Infinity Ranch. Together they have partnered in ownership of a Louisiana-bred Thoroughbred filly that will be named “Sithechristmas elf.” The two-year-old racehorse is currently being trained at Double Infinity Ranch in Sulphur Springs, Texas and is slated to make her debut in summer 2014.

With just three years of experience in the Thoroughbred racing industry, Wes Melcher has already had an enormous amount of success. He campaigned Texas Champion Two-Year-Old Horse of the Year “Worldventurer” and is the owner of 2014 Kentucky Derby hopeful, “Louies Flower” – a horse currently training for the Southwest Stakes on Feb.17 at Oaklawn Park in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Melcher recently purchased a large commercial horse operation in Sulphur Springs and has developed it into a top-notch Thoroughbred facility, complete with a racetrack, under the Double Infinity Ranch banner.

Si Robertson has parlayed his Duck Dynasty fame into many commercial endorsements and projects and is excited to be involved with this sport, especially in his home state of Louisiana. He is expected to make several appearances to support Double Infinity Ranch and “Sithechristmas elf” in 2014.

"Duck The Halls: A Robertson Family Christmas" is now available at retailers across the country. Also being launched is a four part webisode series, A Robertson Family Christmas Story. The webisode series was shot in Nashville, Tennessee during the CMA Music Festival this past June. Each episode focuses on members of the Robertson family competing to see who can announce the Christmas album with the largest stunt. A Robertson Family Christmas Story Part 1: Operation Willie Claus can be viewed here. Additional episodes including Part 2: Human Snow Globe, Part 3: Si Cones and Part 4: Santa Suit Surprise can be unlocked at

The Robertsons will be showcasing their talents, as well as their special brand of Southern down-home sense of humor, on Duck The Halls: A Robertson Family Christmas. Produced by Buddy Cannon, the Christmas album features performances by the Robertson family along with special guests Alison Krauss, George Strait, Josh Turner and Luke Bryan.

The Robertsons, Louisiana’s favorite first family, don’t live in the governor's mansion but in the backwoods, where their rags-to-riches story is still unfolding. A homegrown mom-and-pop operation, Duck Commander has become a sporting empire by fabricating top-of-the-line duck calls and decoys out of salvaged swamp wood. It's also expanded into a line of products that includes hunting apparel, cooking products, DVDs, CDs and novelty items all bearing their brand. In 2012 A&E premiered Duck Dynasty, which features the lives of the Robertson family and their booming family business.
